"The Beetle offers a driver and front passenger head and thorax air bag supplemental restraint system as standard equipment, making the Beetle one of the first cars in the segment to offer such protection. All models offer redesigned wheels and OnStar® Telematics as an available option for added convenience and security. 16" alloy wheels and a power sunroof are standard on the GLS. The Beetle Convertible features an optional 6-speed manual transmission. The semi-automatic, power operated cloth top has a defoggable rear glass window and is standard on the GLS and GLX. A manually operated soft top is standard on the GL. The Beetle also offers an advanced diesel engine option with a 6-speed automatic transmission."
